Cover Model Update

I have changed my cover model to model 3 as I feel his photo has more personality and expression. He will also be used for my feature page.
It also enables me to use 'Light Orange/Gold Yellow' as my colour scheme which was very popular with my target audience.

Audience Feedback: Front Cover Design

After designing the magazine, I then asked my target audience what they thought of it.

Here are their responses:

'It is hard to distinguish what the aim of the magazine is.'

'It looks like a skiing or winter sports magazine!'

'It doesn't look like a music magazine.'

These responses persuaded me to change my whole design and layout.

Designing the cover

As i have decided on model 1, I deliberately used a Blue colour scheme because it is eye catching and appealing and it also matches his clothing. This will run through the text and will be applied to image effects and text boxes to show continuity.

Magazine Update

There is now a confirmed name and colour scheme for the magazine.
It will be called:
Lyrical Beat

The colour scheme will consist of:
Sky Blue and Red

The font for the title will be in 'Bauhaus 93'
Other fonts used on the magazine will be 'Impact' and 'Stencil Std'

Starting the design process: The front cover

To create my magazine, I will be using Adobe InDesign, which is the programme used by most magazines.I have already had a tutorial from a professional and have watched tutorials on YouTube.

The first thing I need to do is create my logo. As I am going with the name 'Lyrical Beat' I think that it should be big and bold. I want my magazine to have a consistent colour scheme and would like it to be vibrant and new.

Most magazines tend to have one word as the name for example 'Vibe.'I want my magazine to stand out so i thought it was better with two words (Lyrical Beat).

Going with the theme of the strong masculine look, I decided to use a male model. I took some shots at different locations and brought them all together to determine which one I would use for my front cover.
