As it is a Hip-Hop/R&B magazine, I want it to have a tough and edgy look and plan to use a male for my model. I think that a male is best on the cover because it would appeal to all. I did a survey and the majority of people said that they would prefer to see a male on a front cover of a Hip-Hop/R&B magazine.
I also want my magazine to stand out on the shelf so i thought bright colours would be best. There were a range of colours but I narrowed it down to 'Sky Blue' and 'Light Orange'
